Small Group Bible Studies
During the seven weeks between Easter and Pentecost, the members and friends of Trinity are entering into Small Group Bible studies to learn about the seven mission responses. These groups meet at different times and locations throughout the week. Some are in people’s homes, while others meet at church. Visit our 50 Days Ablaze! web page for more information.

Children’s Sunday SchoolSunday School
Sunday School classes are taught for pre-school age children through 8th grade. Biblical lessons are include a variety of learning activities and Bible stories to assure children of Christ’s love and forgiveness for them. Parents, adult volunteers, and college students teach these classes. During the summer, there will be one combined class taught by Joy Wolfram and Elaine Harper called “Camp VBS: Faith Ablaze!”

YouthHigh School Bible Study (9th-12th Grades)
Eddie Chesnut leads this weekly study. The high school students read God’s Word, pray, and share in each other’s lives together. Their current topic is 50 Days Ablaze!

College-Age/Twenty-Something Luncheon Bible StudyCollege
The last college-age Bible discussion of the 2005-2006 academic year is May 7th. Drake, DMACC, and Des Moines University students are invited to come back for the Fall semester, when Vicar Lowe will lead the class. Come back in August for fellowship, good food, and Bible discussions relevant to your life. Past topics have included “hot topic” issues, Jesus and the movies, fear, prayer, God’s will, and personal evangelism.

AdultAdult Bible Class
Dwight Stelling and Vicar Matthis lead the adult “Our Life in Christ” series. This is a great gathering of believers who grow in faith together through the Word. Dwight is a Lutheran trained teacher and professor at Grandview College.

B.I.B.L.E. Small Group Bible StudiesBible Study
Have you ever wanted to read the whole Bible? With this Bible class, based on the Today’s Light devotional series, you can read the entire Bible in one year! Claudia Jackovich facilitates these small group studies that discuss the readings for each week. The acronym, B.I.B.L.E., stands for “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.”

Thursday MorningPastor’s Thursday Morning Study
Pastor Wolfram leads the weekly Thursday morning study. The current topic is the 50 Days Ablaze! small group Bible study series of the 7 mission responses. Each segment of the series has a video clip, Bible reading, and discussion questions.

Down Town Bible Study
DownTown
Claudia Jackovich leads this lunch break study at St. John’s Lutheran Church on 6th and Keo. The current series is “Opening Windows of Blessing,” a life-impacting study of the prophets Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.

WHERE: St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6th & Keo


ConfirmationConfirmation (6th-8th Grades)
Pastor Wolfram, the current vicar, and Mark Rowley teach the three year confirmation series at Trinity. 6th grade focuses on Bible stories; 7th grade focuses on basic Christian beliefs and practices; and 8th grade goes in depth into Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. Confirmation prepares children to be Christian leaders in their families, schools, and churches. It is prerequisite for first communion. Confirmation classes are finished for the 2005-2006 academic year, but stay tuned in August for information about the 2006-2007 confirmation year.

Adult Instruction in the Christian Faith
One-on-one instruction in the Christian faith and basic teachings of the Lutheran Church is available from Pastor Wolfram upon request. Call the church office at 279-3609 for more information.


Young Couples Sunday Evening Bible Study
Young couples and couples with young children are invited to join this Bible study. They meet in members’ homes on Sunday evenings. Childcare is available. For more information, contact Jen Carstensen.
